ESTS appoints its first Honorary Member

At the General Members’ Meeting held on 30 May 2026, during the 21st annual conference of the European Society for Textual Scholarship in Lublin, the ESTS decided to appoint its first Honorary Member.

We are delighted to announce that this distinction has been awarded to Almuth Grésillon, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the field of genetic criticism and textual scholarship, as well as her long-standing scholarly leadership within the discipline.

Almuth Grésillon has played a foundational role in the development of genetic criticism and has been closely associated with the Institut des Textes et Manuscrits Modernes (ITEM), which she directed from 1986 to 1994. Her work has had a lasting international impact, particularly through her publications and her contribution to the establishment of key scholarly infrastructures, including the journal Genesis.

The ESTS is honoured to welcome her as its first Honorary Member.
